Opened in March 1999 and the winner of several national awards, the Thornbury Centre was designed as a multi-purpose Centre for the local community. In addition to hosting and managing a variety of community projects it is well-used by local residents who take advantage of the range of activities and facilities on offer.

The Centre’s two large halls are popular venues for parties and event hire, particularly with the option to book additional space if required. Both are easily accessible on the ground floor and have their own external fire exits. The Centre prides itself on its friendly, helpful staff and a member of the team is always on site to provide support and security.

Situated on the Leeds/Bradford corridor and with good transport links and free on-site parking in our private car park the Centre offers a convenient alternative to city-centre venues.

The Centre does not hold an alcohol licence but does not charge a corkage fee to anyone wishing to serve alcohol free of charge. A temporary licence must be applied for if you wish to sell alcohol at your event.

Our on-site café can cater for your party/event if you wish but you may also provide your own catering arrangements.

St Margaret’s Hall is our premium venue but The John Day Hall is a very flexible hall and is a very popular party venue.
